Giulio Maria Pasinetti is The Saunders Family Chair and Professor of Neurology, Psychiatry, Neuroscience, Geriatrics and Adult development at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is also the Program Director of the NIH funded P50 Center on Molecular Integrative Neuroresilience focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms and pathophysiology that may be at the basis of stress-induced mood disorders, including anxiety, depression, and other neuropsychiatric disorders and their influence on cognitive dysfunction. Grace Y. Sun emeritus obtained B.S. in Chemistry from Seattle Pacific University and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Oregon State University. After holding a research scientist position in Cleveland for 7 years, she was recruited to the Biochemistry Department in University of Missouri. As an internationally renowned neuroscientist, Dr. Sun is recognized for her research on brain lipids and signaling pathways in relation to neurodegenerative diseases and aging.

Her research experience included serving as director of the MU Alzheimer’s disease research program, and project leader in the MU Center for Phytonutrient and Phytochemistry.

Zehra Gok Metin has completed her PhD in 2015 from Hacettepe University and worked for one year at University of Alabama at Birmingham for Post-doctoral studies. Dr. Nozomi Donoyama, Ph.D is a massage, acupuncture, and moxibustion therapist and an associate professor in Tsukuba university of Technology. She has been teaching massage (Japanese massage called Anma-massage therapy and Western massage), acupuncture, moxibustion, and Oriental medicine. She obtained Masters degree of physical education and Doctoral degree of human care sciences at University of Tsukuba. She is now working as a principal investigator of a randomized controlled trial to provide evidence of effects of Anma-massage therapy receiving the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.

Frank Yurasek completed his PhD in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, PRC, and his MSOM at Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, Chicago. In addition to being in Practice since 1985, he is past Chair of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at National University of Health Sciences, and Professor of Tuina at Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. He has presented Posters on Acupuncture at several Society of Acupuncture Research Conferences in the U.S. and China, as well as the World Federation of Society of Acupuncture Conferences in Houston, Texas and Toronto, Canada, as well as The Midwest Pain Medicine Society. He was appointed Vice President of WFAS in Beijing in 2014. Dr. Yurasek is Director of Acupuncture for Cook County Health & Hospital Systems, Stroger Hospital Pain Clinic. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Notre Dame University, where he also taught for several years.

Zhang-Jin Zhang is a Professor and an Associate Director (Clinical Affairs) of the School of Chinese Medicine of the University of Hong Kong (HKU). He received his Chinese medicine and Western medicine training and earned his Ph.D. in neuroscience in China. During 1994-2006, He continued his research work in psychopharmacology and clinical psychiatry at Vanderbilt University and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in USA. His long-term research interest focuses on developing effective treatment strategies from herbal medicine and acupuncture for neuropsychiatric disorder, including depression, anxiety, dementia, and schizophrenia. He has authored over 90 research papers and 7 book chapters and delivered numerous seminars introducing herbal medicine and acupuncture for mental health and wellbeing. he has active clinical practice in Hong Kong with specialty in the use of acupuncture and Chinese medicine for neuropsychiatric problems.

Wen-Long Hu is Vice Director, Department of Chinese Medicine at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, an assistant professor at Fooyin University, Kaohsiung Medical University, and Chang Gung University. He is invited to write a chapter entitled “Acupuncture for Disorders of Consciousness” in Acupuncture - Clinical Practice, Particular Technics and Special Issues (2011) and one entitled “Explore Laser Acupuncture’s Role” in Acupuncture in Modern Medicine (2013). Prior to his current position, he was chief of division of acupuncture at Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital. He has the experiences of clinical practice in low level laser therapy (LLLT) for 20 years and in acupuncture for 25 years. He is invited speaker for lectures in LLLT at many symposiums held by some medical associations. Recently, he is invited to instruct physicians to practice LLLT in workshops. He also involves researches in LLLT, e.g. obesity, metabolic syndrome, stroke, dementia, Parkinsonism, myofascial pain, arthralgia, radiculopathy, etc.

John Howard completed his degree in acupuncture from the Maryland Institute of Traditional Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. John holds two professorships; one in Traditional Chinese Medicine and the other in Western Medicine from George Washington University (GWU). Professor (Prof) Howard lectured on suturing and minor trauma management. Upon completion of his degree Prof Howard entered into a five-year fellowship with the US military under the direction of Dr. Richard Niemtzow, MD, PHD. Prof Howard is both a clinician and an academician. As an academician, he provides international lectures in acupuncture and auriculotherapy. He has authored five books and 21 articles on these two fields. He is also dedicated to the promotion of knowledge and has been awarded the dissemination of seminal works of Dr. Raphael Nogier (The RAFT (Radial Artery Food Test)) and of Dr. René Bourdiol (Elements of Auriculotherapy). In 2014 Prof Howard served as the vice president of the 8th International Symposium of Auriculotherapy in the United States. In 2016 Prof Howard became a consultant for ZeroMed (a holistic medical goods company) to design auriculotherapy protocols.

John is currently conducting studies on the use of Auriculotherapy in distance runners to enhance performance. Some of men on team USA who won the world 100k gold medal in the Nederland’s in 2011 used his protocol.

Yibin Feng is currently an Associate Professor cum Associate Director in School of Chinese Medicine, the University of Hong Kong. Dr. Feng awarded Bachelor degree in Chinese Medicine from Mainland China. He awarded his PhD degree in molecular medicine from Hokkaido University School of Medicine and finished postdoctoral research in the same University in Japan.

Feng’s research interest focuse on clinical trial and experimental study for cancer, diabetes, hepatic and renal diseases by using recently developed techniques. He has published over 200 publications in in these areas and serve as editor and reviewer for over 50 international journals.

Yu-Chiang Hung has completed his PhD from graduate institute of clinical medical sciences, Chang Gung University. He is the director of Department of Chinese medicine, Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. He specializes in Chinese medicine and has published about 21 papers in reputed journals

Rong Peijing is a professor and an academic leader of acupuncture in China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS). Her research interests are involved in mechanisms underlying acupuncture and the therapeutic effects of acupuncture. She has made series studies of transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation on depression, epilepsy, diabetes, insomnia, and the invention of acupuncture instruments. The research team investigated that the mechanism of auricular acupuncture is the correlation between auricular and the vagus nerve. Currently she is the Associate Director of the Committee of Auricular Acupuncture and the secretary general of the Academic Committee of China Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (CAAM). She’s got the financial supports from the International Association on the study of Pain (IASP), the International Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS) and the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO). She was awarded the Distinguished Young Investigator by the Federation of the Asian and Oceania Physiological Societies (FAOPS). She’s served more than 20 international conferences as a chair/pc member and offered about 10 keynotes/talks in high ranking conferences or universities, and has also served as editor/guest editor in about 10 peer reviewed journals in professional science. So far, she has published more than 100 academic papers, including Biological Psychiatry, PLoS One，et al. SCI journals. She has won 7 Scientific Awards of the Provincial and Ministerial-level.
